FAQs
From preparing your first design to caring for a finished garment, here are the details that help you get your gang sheet right.
Ordering & gang sheets
What is a DTF gang sheet?
A gang sheet combines several designs on one sheet of direct-to-film transfers. You can mix artwork and print sizes in a single layout, then cut the transfers apart and heat-press them onto compatible items.
Can I build a sheet or upload one I already made?
Both options are part of our gang sheet ordering workflow. Arrange individual designs in the builder, or upload a completed gang sheet. Review your sheet dimensions, layout, and quantity before checkout.
Can I mix different designs and sizes?
Yes. A gang sheet can include different artwork, multiple print sizes, and repeated copies of the same design. Keep every design within the sheet boundaries and leave enough room to cut the transfers apart.
Are shirts or other garments included?
You are ordering printed DTF transfers. Garments and accessories shown on the site are application examples unless a product listing expressly includes them.
Can you quote a larger order?
Email info@transfermerch.com with your sheet dimensions, quantities, artwork, and required delivery date so we can discuss your project.
Artwork & color
What file type should I use?
A high-resolution PNG with a transparent background is a practical choice for print-ready artwork. If you have an AI, EPS, or other vector file, contact us about preparing it for the upload formats supported by the builder.
What resolution should my artwork be?
Prepare raster artwork at 300 DPI at the size you intend to print. Enlarging a small or low-resolution image does not restore lost detail. Check that edges, small text, and fine lines are clear before submitting.
Should my artwork have a transparent background?
Yes, when you want only the design to print. Remove unwanted backgrounds before uploading, and check the preview for stray pixels or a solid rectangle behind the artwork.
Can you print photographs?
Yes. Use a clear, high-resolution image at its intended print size. If you want a cutout rather than the full rectangular photograph, prepare the image with the unwanted background removed.
Will the printed colors match my screen exactly?
Screen displays and printed inks reproduce color differently, so an exact screen-to-print match is not guaranteed. Prepare your artwork in RGB color mode. Contact us before ordering if a specific brand color is critical.
Can you print metallic or fluorescent colors?
Our standard DTF printing does not use metallic or fluorescent inks. A design can suggest those colors visually, but the printed transfer will not have a metallic finish or fluorescent effect.
Who checks my artwork and layout?
You are responsible for checking spelling, sizing, image quality, quantities, and arrangement before placing your order. Contact us beforehand if you are unsure whether a file is suitable. You must also have permission to reproduce the artwork you submit.
Shipping & order support
When will my order arrive?
Production and shipping are separate stages. Timing depends on the order, artwork readiness, and selected shipping service. Check the Shipping Policy and contact us before ordering if you have a firm deadline.
How do I track an order?
Use the tracking details in your shipping confirmation once the order is dispatched. For help, email your order number to info@transfermerch.com.
Can I change or cancel my order?
Contact us immediately. Because transfers are custom printed, changes or cancellation may no longer be possible after production starts. Always review your artwork and order details before payment.
What if my transfers are damaged or misprinted?
Email us within 14 days of receipt with your order number, a description of the issue, and clear photos. We will review the problem and arrange an appropriate remedy for a confirmed production fault. See the Refund Policy before returning anything.
Which payment methods and shipping options are available?
The methods available for your order are displayed at checkout. For a special delivery requirement or a large-order quote, contact us before paying.
Pressing & garment care
How do I apply my transfers?
Use a heat press and follow the time, temperature, pressure, and peel instructions supplied with your order. Those instructions take priority over general online guidance. Test your material before decorating a full batch.
Can I use DTF transfers on any fabric?
DTF works with a range of apparel fabrics, but compatibility depends on the fabric, coating, heat tolerance, and application conditions. Test a sample, especially on unfamiliar or heat-sensitive materials.
How should I wash and dry decorated garments?
Wait at least 24 hours after pressing before the first wash. Wash inside out on a gentle cycle, avoid bleach and harsh chemicals, and air-dry or tumble-dry on low when the garment label permits. Follow any more specific instructions supplied with your order.
Can I iron or dry-clean a DTF print?
Avoid ironing directly over the design; turn the garment inside out or protect the print. Dry cleaning is not recommended for the transfer. Always check the garment's care label as well.
